This week's RTÉ Radio 1 Album Of The Week sees the release of a collection of 40 seminal U2 songs from across the band's catalogue.
Songs Of Surrender is curated and produced by The Edge and see's the band revisit some of their most celebrated songs of their 40-year-plus career. These reimagining's includes new arrangements and, in some cases, new lyrics.

RTÉ.ie: Nearly three hours later, you may still be wondering what Songs of Surrender is all about. There is something vaguely vampiric about the whole enterprise but ironically this is the best thing U2 have done in years.
NME: There is disappointment that a number of U2's big-hitters don’t translate well on Songs Of Surrender, but this revision hasn’t been a totally fruitless endeavour: you just have to dig a little bit deeper to find the reimagined material that’s truly worth savouring.
Hot Press: Stripping these songs back to their core gives both band and listener a chance to re-connect with them, to hear them with fresh ears. For the most part, that also serves to remind us just how bloody magnificent they were in the first place.
