Dubliner Richie Baneham won an Oscar for Avitar - now he's been nominated again

For three decades, Ballyfermot animation graduate Richie Baneham, has been quietly working behind the scenes as a visual effects supervisor on some of the biggest franchises in cinema, including the Lord of the Rings trilogy and James Cameron's billion-dollar sci-fi epic, Avatar.

Richie talks to RTÉ Arena above.

In 2010, Baneham shared a Best Visual Effects Oscar for his ground-breaking work on the first Avatar film, and now, he’s been nominated again for the second instalment, Avatar: The Way of Water.
