Young artists across the island are invited to create an original piece of art for the This Is Art! competition from RTÉ and Creative Ireland.
Artists of all abilities, aged 18 and under can take part, individually or in groups and the work will be showcased in an online digital collection. The theme of this year's competition is 'This Is Inspiration'.
The winners will be announced on Saturday June 10th as part of Crinniú na nÓg, Ireland's national free day of creativity for young people.

To enter, young artists have to create a piece of art, snap or scan a digital version and upload the entry, along with a short statement to rte.ie/thisisart - all eligible artwork will then be reviewed by an independent panel of jurors and exhibited in the This Is Art! online gallery.
There are 5 categories:
● Age 7 and under
● Age 8 – 11
● Age 12 – 15
● Age 16 - 18
● Group category
Selected works will feature on local authority billboards across the country and on social media.
The 2023 Jury includes Annie Fletcher (Director of IMMA, Irish Museum of Modern Art), Tadhg Crowley (Senior Curator, The Glucksman Museum, UCC) visual artist Amanda Coogan, painter Colin Martin and photographer Ruth Medjber.

A prize fund of more than €10,000 will be awarded across the different categories for further education and art related vouchers.
One artist in each category will be chosen to receive the This Is Art! Grand Prix Award; a specially commissioned one of a kind glass trophy handmade by master glass maker Roisín de Buitléar.

Selected works across all categories will receive a certificate of commendation along with prize vouchers for art materials and a professional review of their work by a member of the jury.
Professional art facilitators will provide a unique art experience for the winners and runners up in the group category, while bursaries towards art courses, vouchers for art materials and picture framing vouchers will also be awarded.
