For Christmas Eve, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra was joined in studio by Derry singer-songwriter Soak; indie-rockers Pillow Queens; and all the way from Michigan via Iceland, by special guest John Grant.
The programme was hosted by RTÉ Radio 1's Cathal Murray, who talked to John about his childhood memories of snowy family Christmases in Buchanan, Michigan; secret festive family recipes; the challenges of dealing with sadness and loss at Christmas; his self-professed aptitude for languages and why he loves spending time here in Ireland.
