Dublin Book Festival's ongoing mission is to bring as broad as possible a range of literary and cultural events to their audiences, both young and old - and this year's programme is no exception!

Here's a little overview of just what's planned for this November at DBF 2022...

RTÉ ARENA COMES TO THE DBF

At the heart of the festival lies the aim of bringing writers and readers together. This year, fiction enthusiasts will love the RTÉ Radio 1 Arena festival opening night event, with authors Wendy Erskine, Louise Kennedy and Chilean author José Ignacio Valenuzuela in conversation with Seán Rocks, with music by John Francis Flynn.

Where and when? Thursday 10th November @ 7:00 pm, Hugh Lane Gallery - find out more here.

Eoghan Daltun

IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT THE CITY...

Finding ways to engage with literature through nature is a key focus of the DBF, and this year sees a return to the peaceful surrounds of the National Botanic Gardens where nature enthusiasts can enjoy events including Natural Ecosystems and Wonders in the Wild with Eoghan Daltun and Éanna Ní Lamhna, plus Paddy Woodworth in conversation with poet Jane Clarke, nature photographer Tina Claffey, and author and environmental scientist Richard Nairn at The Naturalist's Bookshelf.

Where and when? Sunday November 13th, National Botanic Gardens - find out more here and here.

Aingeala Flannery

MEET THE NEW VOICES IN IRISH LITERATURE

Those interested in emerging writers will enjoy Ireland's Emerging Writers with Aingeala Flannery, Kathleen Murray and Alice Ryan, while those keen to hear more from underrepresented voices in literature can come to the Raising Voices Showcase where the 2022 Fellows, from this initiative run by Dublin Book Festival and three other literary organisations, will be doing readings.

Where and when? Sunday November 13th, The New Theatre, Temple Bar - find out more here and here.

Dagogo Hart

EXPLORE THE CITY THROUGH LITERATURE...

Those with a taste for adventure can hop on board the boats going down the Liffey and out to Dublin Bay, all the while enjoying the spoken words of Dagogo Hart, Samuel Yakura and Emmet O'Brien, or the dynamic storytelling of Niall de Búrca.

Where and when? Saturday November 12th, CHQ - find out more here and here.

Guido Fanzini

FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY...

This year sees an abundance of literary and creative events to keep all the family entertained. Children can get creative at Designasaurus with author Debbie Thomas and hear her read from her latest book, or roll the sleeves up and join authors and illustrators like Ashwin Chacko for a Drawalong. Get those bodies moving and hands clapping with music by members of Kíla, or simply kick back and let the amazing Guido Fanzini's Thunderous Entertainment Haberdashery delight you.

The Dublin Book Festival runs from November 8th - 13th - find out more about this year's programme here.
