FILM: THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN

OPERA: THE MET LIVE
In a new partnership with the Metropolitan Opera New York, Irish National Opera will be presenting a new season of The Met: Live, featuring live transmissions of ten spectacular opera productions in cinemas across Ireland. The new season kicks off with Cherubini's Medea, a Met premiere production starring soprano Sondra Radvanovsky, on Saturday 22 October (Cinemas nationwide)
VISUAL ART: AS FAR AS I CAN SEE
Artist Corban Walker creates installations, sculpture and drawings that focus on human-made systems and perceptions of scale; his new show at Cork's Crawford Gallery reimagines the space with a mirrored installation piece alongside recent glass and amber acrylic works, a video self-portrait and the artist's perceptive selection of over thirty pieces from the Gallery’s Collection in the eighteenth-century Long Room (Until January 2023)

EVENT: SAMHAIN FAMILY FESTIVAL
A free family fun day on Meeting House Square in Dublin's Temple Bar features Creatures of Samhain, a retelling of Irish myths and legends for young ears. Seanchaí and colourful characters will bring spine-tingling tales of the Morrigan, Caorthannach (a monstrous dragon monster), The Fairy Queen and the cheeky Puca to the Ark's outdoor stage. Also: face painting! Get in the mood with the story of the Wolfman of Ossory, read by playwright and performer Emmet Kirwan (Saturday 23rd October - find out more here)
