Something For The Weekend: David O'Reilly's cultural picks

David O'Reilly is a multidisciplinary Irish artist based in Los Angeles, whose unique oeuvre spans animation, video games, and interactive art.

David started his career as an animator, creating numerous short films which inspired a wave of lo-fi digital aesthetics. In collaboration with Spike Jonze, he created the holographic video games in the film, Her.

He then went on to develop interactive nature simulations such as Mountain and the universe scale Everything. His pioneering AR works have received over three billion views across social media.

Now he's headlining the Autumn Programme at Living Canvas Dublin, the largest outdoor screen for contemporary art in Europe, with a reworking of his renowned work Eye of the Dream, which aims to show life from the Big Bang to the modern world – all on the banks of Dublin’s Grand Canal.
