Relax! Holly Johnson on life after Frankie Goes To Hollywood

'80s pop icon Holly Johnson joined Ray D'Arcy on the line - listen above.

The former front man of controversial synth-pop band Frankie Goes To Hollywood is headlining at this year's retro-tastic Forever Young Festival in Kildare, topping a bill that includes OMD, Paul Young, Tiffany, Nik Kershaw and Bananarama, and many more.

Frankie caused a sensation with their first three chart-topping singles, Relax, Two Tribes and The Power Of Love, along with a debut album, Welcome To The Pleasuredome, selling a million copies in advance of its release in 1984. After Frankie fizzled out, Johnson enjoyed solo success with singles like Love Train and Americanos before embarking on a successful career as a visual artist.

Forever Young takes place from 15th - 17th July 2022 at Palmerstown House Estate, Kildare - find out more here.
