The highly anticipated TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's debut novel Conversations with Friends is coming to RTÉ this week - director Lenny Abrahamson talks to RTÉ Arena above.

This series follows a 21-year-old Dublin-based college student called Frances (newcomer Alison Oliver) who becomes involved in the life of a married couple, Melissa and Nick (Jemima Kirke and Joe Alwyn).

Conversations with Friends is Abrahamson's second adaptation of a Sally Rooney novel, after the phenomenal success of Normal People in 2020. The script comes from Mark O'Halloran, reuniting with the director after their earlier collaborations on Adam & Paul, Garage and RTÉ series Prosperity.
