FILM: THE CELLAR
The latest must-see Irish horror movie comes from director Brendan Muldowney, revisiting his celebrated short film The Ten Steps in feature-length form; The Cellar tells the story of Keira Woods (Elisha Cuthbert, from 24), whose daughter mysteriously vanishes in the cellar of their new house in the country. Before long, she discovers there is an ancient and powerful entity controlling their home that she will have to face or risk losing her family's souls forever... Don't you hate when that happens?

EVENT: FEIS CEOIL
One of Ireland's longest-running cultural institutions, the Feis Ceoil has been promoting excellence in learning and performing music since the first festival in 1897 - over the decades since, the majority of Irish classical music talents of note have graced its stages. The Feis celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2021 virtually - this year, the event is once again live and in person, while retaining an online element, with the cream of Ireland's young musicians gathering - over 5,000 participants participating in some 200 competitions - for a glorious musical celebration (From Mon 28th March to Fri 8 April - find out more here).
THEATRE: LUKE
NoRopes Theatre Company return to the fray with Mairéad Folan's playwriting debut, presented in partnership with Town Hall Theatre and Axis: Ballymun) - directed by Diarmuid de Faoite, it's a tragi-comic tale of survival, adventure and love, as the handsome if-somewhat-lived-in looking Luke (Barry Hopkins) and his sidekick Mairéad (Mairéad Folan) negotiate the perils of the Irish education system, the dance floor, love and loss (At Town Hall Theatre, Galway from March 31st – April 2nd - find out more here)

STREAMING: THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE
An unrecognisable Jessica Chastain has a decent shot at the Best Actress Oscar this weekend for her tour-de-force performance in this compelling biopic offering an intimate look at the extraordinary rise, fall, and redemption of televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker. Fellow Oscar nominee (albeit for Tick, Tick... Boom!) Andrew Garfield offers capable support as her husband Jim (Now streaming on Disney Plus).

OPERA: ABOMINATION
In June 2008, following a vicious assault on a 27-year old gay man by three youths in Co Antrim, the DUP MP Iris Robinson gave an infamous interview to journalist Stephen Nolan, thus providing the inspiration for The Belfast Ensemble's award-winning opera, making its eagerly-anticipated Dublin premiere at The Abbey Theatre from 24 March – 2 April - the creators talk to RTÉ Arena below.
