The IFTA-nominated short documentary Nothing to Declare has been acquired by RTÉ Television - watch a clip above.
Nothing to Declare tells the story of Keith Byrne, 10, and Noel Murray, 13, from Darndale in Dublin, who had run away before, but evading the authorities in three countries was a first—even for them.
In August, 1985, they began an incredible trip in which they left home and eventually ended up in New York via an Air India flight from London. Their journey baffled security in three countries, caused a major terrorism alert, and left their parents in the dark about their whereabouts for days.
The film will screen on RTÉ in the coming months - for those wanting to see the film sooner, it screens this Saturday (February 26th) at the Dublin International Film Festival - find out more here.
