One of Ireland's top electronic producers, Elaine Mai has just released her much-anticipated debut album, Home.
Collaboration is a strong strand running through Elaine’s album, with vocalists like MayKay, Ailbhe Reddy, Sinéad White and Loah all featuring on Home.
Her latest single Go Slow, featuring Sinéad White on vocals, is out now.
We asked Elaine for her choice cultural picks...
FILM
Another Round. This was my wife’s first trip back to the cinema in over a year and a half, and it was a great re-introduction. We both loved it.
MUSIC
Woman on the Internet by Orla Gartland. An excellent first album from an incredible artist.
BOOK
Calypso by David Sedaris. I listened to the audiobook of this which I highly recommend because David narrates - it made me laugh out loud many times.
THEATRE
Our last visit to the theatre was to see A Christmas Carol in The Gate, right at the end of 2019. The staging was so beautiful and the show was really immersive, with the cast moving through the crowd.
TV
The White Lotus. I love a good mini-series and this is a fantastic one. Excellent cast and you can’t stop watching once you’ve started.
GIG
We have tickets for Bicep who I absolutely adore. We’re waiting on rescheduled dates, but that one will be a cracker.
ART
Grayson Perry. I got into his show Grayson’s Art Club through lockdown and it was such a joy. If you’re looking for an uplifting show this is a brilliant watch.
PODCAST
Finding Q: My Journey into QAnon. I’m just getting into this one, but it’s a brilliant listen so far.
So I'm super proud and a little terrified to be able to say: my Audible Original series, Finding Q, is now out there in the world!
