This weekend will see one of the first live literary festivals to take place in Ireland over the last eighteen months - The Borris House Festival of Writing & Ideas is on this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (August 19th - 21st) in the historic County Carlow venue.

Among the guest speakers attending Borris are President Michael D. Higgins, writers Zadie Smith, David Mitchell, Sebastian Barry, Marian Keyes, filmmaker Jim Sheridan and David Puttnam, poet Paul Muldoon and musician Junior Brother.

"It's a privilege to be able to have a festival in these times," says festival Co-Founder and Executive Producer Hugo Jellett, "and it is going to be a very very special few days for those fortunate enough to join us."

Other guests live and in person over the weekend include Emma Dabiri, Mark O'Connell, Dr. Marie Cassidy, John Banville, Amy Huberman, Michael Harding, Sinéad Gleeson, Manchan Magan, Olivia O’Leary, Lisa McInerney, Patrick Freyne, Loah and many more.
