Popular online music show Sessions from Oblivion returns for a new 10-part series on Monday, August 23rd, showcasing the cream of Irish musical talent - viewers can watch via RTÉ Culture and listen on RTÉ 2XM.
The acclaimed series showcases 20 new(ish) music acts, covering the full range of music genres, from folk and electronica to pop and hip-hop, and talks to music industry veterans who have walked the walk and will do the talk in the Tips and Tricks segment of the show. Featured in the first episode are N.O.A.H., Niamh Regan and David Bowie collaborator Gerry Leonard in conversation.

Each week, an unlikely combination of artists are captured playing live in the Ballroom of Oblivion - in truth, it's the nightclub at Dunboyne Hotel (Oblivion is the name of the recording studio, owned by series presenter Andrew Bass, where the first series was recorded).
The Tips and Tricks guests are equally diverse, with musicians, producers, managers, agents and academics covering a swathe of the business of music from creating to selling. Oblivion presenter Andrew Bass asks each of them to share three things they have learned that anybody interested in music or performing would find useful.
Who could doubt the talent of, for instance, acts like Celaviedemai, The Mary Wallopers and Cherym, or that Louis Walsh, Jenny Greene, Radie Peat and Gerry Leonard have learnt a thing or three over the years?
The new series of Sessions from Oblivion kicks off here on RTÉ Culture on Monday August 23rd, with the audio version on RTE2XM, Wednesday 25th at 7pm - a new episode follows every week for 9 weeks.
Sessions from Oblivion is fully funded by the LPSS (Live Performance Support Scheme), provided by The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media.
