'I was a big fan of Maeve Binchy's when her column in the Irish Times was the first thing I read in the paper on Saturdays. She was a successful novelist living, I imagined, a very sophisticated life in London. and I was a primary school teacher, in a small town with a husband and two young children. I loved Saturday mornings when we all went to the library, then the coffee shop, took a stroll around the town, always finishing with a visit to The Book Centre to get the paper...'
