Bob Dylan turns 80 on May 24th, and this weekend RTÉ is celebrating the living legend across our music shows on RTÉ Radio 1, RTÉ 2FM and online at www.rte.ie/culture.
Although a master of folk music, Dylan's influence reaches beyond all genres.
Here at RTÉ Culture we're presenting a unique live celebration, as Other Voices partners with the U.S. Embassy Dublin’s Creative Minds team to curate a unique livestream to celebrate the music and social impact of Bob Dylan on his 80th birthday, presented live from the U.S. Ambassador's Residence, Dublin - watch it live online here on RTÉ Culture next Monday, 24 May at 8pm

We're also presenting Dave Fanning's memorable audio documentary The Reluctant Nobel, exploring Dylan's life and career in the wake of his Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016.
The celebrations begin on RTÉ Radio 1 with Philip King's South Wind Blows on Saturday night, May 22, at 10pm, Philip, who met the great man, brings us a playlist full of well-known Dylan treasures as well as a few surprises.
Brian Lally, who has seen Bob in concert well over forty times, delivers a tribute to Dylan on RTÉ Radio 1's Sunday Miscellany on Sunday morning (May 23) from 9.10 am,
On the Monday - Dylan's birthday - RTÉ Radio 1 are celebrating in style: Brian Lally and Cait Riordan will be reeling in the Bob on Today with Claire Byrne, and later that day Arena will have a Dylan biographer on the show, along with a sneak preview of the Other Voices livestream coming from the U.S. Embassy later that evening. Directly following Arena, John Creedon will of course spin a little Dylan magic.
