Very sad news emerged over the weekend of the death of Tom Hickey, one of Ireland's most beloved stage and screen actors, from his iconic turn on RTÉ drama The Riordans to his collaborations with playwright Tom MacIntyre, his career spans a half-century of memorable performances.
