Gaming is one of biggest industries around the world. And with Ireland's reputation as a tech haven, it’s little surprise we also have many players at the centre of it all.

From content creators to world-class Esports events, to the very people who make the games we love to play, and those determined to future-proof our industry, here’s a flavour of the Irish people who are changing the game – literally.

Supported by Capcom, Bandai Namcom Warner Bros and Nintendo to name but a few, Celtic Throwdown is one of the premier esports events in Ireland and continues to bring world-class fighting talent to our shores every year.

And whilst the pandemic may have put a pause on many events globally, everyone knows fighting games are the best of three rounds – and the return of Celtic Throwdown will truly be worth the wait.

"We, like everyone else, are preparing for the right time to come out of this pandemic and return to some sort of normality," says Aaron Jackson, CEO.

"We built superb relationships with our gaming partners & international pro tours and are in position to bring CT back in late 2021, all going well with vaccine roll out and the lifting of restrictions."

"Our fans come from all over Ireland & the world to attend Celtic Throwdown and battle it out with the very best for the championship! We intend to hit the ground running and continue to grow Ireland's presence on the global esports map."
