Ireland's longest-running music TV show Other Voices returns to RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player for its 19th season on March 4th, with an array of dynamic and diverse performances, captured in a variety of different locations, including Dingle, Cardiff and Ballina. 

Presented by May Kay and Huw Stephens, featured acts in this 10-week season of Other Voices include Hozier, Fontaines D.C., Elbow, Pillow Queens, Rhiannon Giddens, For Those I Love and more.

Hozier will kick off the season with an intimate, stripped-back, performance, featuring new string arrangements by Ireland's Crash Ensemble. Viewers can also expect an explosive performance from Choice Music Prize-nominated indie rock four-piece Pillow Queens, as well as a moving set  of quiet gentle wonder drawn from 'Hemet', the feted debut from the magical Niamh Regan. 

The series will include two special episodes: Grammy-nominated five-piece Fontaines D.C. will showcase their unique sound in the iconic location of Dublin's Kilmainham Gaol, while Other Voices fan favourites Elbow come to us from Ballina and Dingle.

Legendary Irish musician Damien Dempsey, renowned folk singer-songwriter Rhiannon Giddens, alt country musician CMAT and For Those I Love - the project of multi-instrumentalist & producer David Balfe -  will also feature in the series.

This March, Other Voices makes its way from Dingle on the west coast of Ireland to Cardiff for an unforgettable weekend of music, embracing the diversity of Irish and Welsh culture and bringing the two together. 

The sophomore edition of Other Voices Cardigan will showcase the talents of some of music’s brightest new stars. 

The rich and diverse lineup includes electronic pop artist Ani Glass, accomplished Irish violinist Aoife Ní Bhriain, acclaimed Welsh harpist Catrin Finch, Cardiff based rising star Juice Menace, post-punk poet Sinead O'Brien, multi-instrumentalist The Gentle Good and Trinidad-born rapper, producer, and songwriter BERWYN. 

Hosted by Huw Stephens and Kizzy Crawford, Other Voices Cardigan is a collaborative stream brought to you by South Winds Blows, Mwldan and Triongl. Other Voices Cardigan is part of 'Gŵyl 2021’, a two day digital festival staged by four of Wales’ best-loved festivals, and is presented in partnership by Focus Wales, Little Wander, Triongl, South Wind Blows, Mwldan, Wales Millennium Centre and BBC Cymru Wales. 

Irish and international music fans can stream the weekend’s performances for free on Other Voices’ YouTube, Twitter and Facebook platforms (with the exception of UK based music fans who can tune in at BBC.co.uk/gwyl2021). The event will also broadcast on S4C and RTÉ later this year.

Following on from the highly successful ‘Courage’ series, Other Voices will once again be collapsing distance, this time between homes around the world and the front row of the National Museum, Cardiff with an inspiring weekend of beautifully realised performances all free to enjoy online.
