The mighty Aslan take to the stage in the first of a series of unique live performances recorded at Killarney's INEC Arena - watch the concert above, and INEC Director Mark Egan introduces the series below...
Ireland's live music scene is captured beautifully in this series of gigs filmed at the Gleneagle INEC Arena in December. And they are just what we need to tide us over until we can once again go, ticket in hand, to a live show...
Musicians, techies and support crew re-joined the workforce, albeit temporarily, to create this magical series of performances and connect with audiences and fans worldwide. The gigs were funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media under the Live Performance Support Scheme - they provided 1509 days of employment for 348 people.

The past year has proved an unprecedented challenge for everyone working in the live entertainment industry and support schemes such as this are vital in ensuring this industry remains intact after the pandemic.
The talents of our Irish technicians and support staff are also really on show here in the incredible production quality. And, while it certainly was unusual to play to an empty room, the enthusiasm of each and every musician and their love of performing is palpable.
Tune in over the coming weeks to hear fantastic performances by Aslan, Hermitage Green, Bird on the Wire, The Academic, Brad Heidi, Séamus Begley and the Síbín Orchestra.
