Edna O'Brien's T. S. Eliot Lecture

On the occasion of her 90th birthday, acclaimed author Edna O'Brien has delivered the annual T. S. Eliot lecture, focusing on Eliot's impact on modern literature and his friendship with James Joyce.

Hailed by President Michael D Higgins as one of the finest chroniclers of Irish life, O'Brien has authored more than 20 works of fiction and her most recent work, Girl, was published last year.

Following her lecture at the Irish Embassy in London, O'Brien reflects on the work of Eliot and Joyce and the impact they had on her own writing.
