Irish Makers is a new series showcasing some of the most talented makers and creators that the country has to offer

It's now more important than ever for us to support small independent businesses, whether that be by sharing their creations across social media, buying from them or recommending to a friend...

Today's featured maker is illustrator and cartoonist, Annie West.

Much of Annie's work is inspired by the literary giants of Ireland such as WB Yeats, James Joyce, Seamus Heaney and Oscar Wilde, with her prints featuring these characters in imagined humorous situations. An Annie West print would make the perfect gift for someone who loves Irish literature this Christmas. Annie is also available for commissions if you are looking to get your own original artwork made.

Her work is highly acclaimed across Ireland with Lenny Abrahamson, director of the TV series Normal People, calling it: "delicious, insightful, humane and, when called for, savagely satirical."
