Irish Makers is a series spotlighting some of the most talented makers, creators and independent businesses that the country has to offer.
In the run up to Christmas, it is more important than ever to support local creatives, helping them to get through this difficult period.
In the spotlight today is Slated, an Irish family-owned and run luxury artisan homeware brand based in Dublin.

Slated was founded by husband and wife duo Ed and Tara Hammond, who create beautiful slate homeware inspired by tradition.
Ed comes from a long line of master slate craftsmen whose traditional techniques and values have been passed lovingly from father to son since the beginning of the 18th century. Inspired by the natural beauty of the slate, Tara saw the potential to create refined slate homeware.
Together, Ed and Tara created a fresh cut slate table runner for their home - this sparked an enduring passion to utilise the beauty of slate in the home.
Their range of personalised boards and tableware are all handcrafted by Ed using a 150-year-old slater's knife.
The beautifully cut boards, from €45, are perfect for serving up delicious cheese or festive feasts, while the coasters, from €10, make the ideal addition to your dining, coffee or side table.
Slated are also teaming up with the Peter McVerry Trust this year, giving away a percentage of their online sales to the charity.
