Watch: Spoken word poet Sasha Terfous reads Identity

Sasha Terfous is currently one of Ireland's most notable spoken word poets, representing the artistic community of the South-East.

Her latest project is a video interpretation of her poem Identity, produced in collaboration with the Adrian Brinkerhoff Poetry Foundation in New York - watch above.

Terfous was born in the small rural town of New Ross before moving to Waterford in 2016, the same year that she joined the Word Up Collective.

Terfous reflects upon her own life experiences within her poetry and uses her work as a form of activism, drawing attention to the voices that should be heard and the issues within society that need to be addressed.
