Almost a decade after its Broadway debut, the hugely successful satirical comedy musical The Book Of Mormon is finally set to make its Irish debut.
The winner of nine Tony Awards, Book Of Mormon was created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, creators of irreverent animated sitcom South Park as well as scatological 2004 puppet action movie Team America: World Police.
The production announced the news via Facebook this week:
Still a massive box-office draw on Broadway and a fixture in London's West End since 2013, the show follows two young missionaries who are sent to Uganda to try to convert citizens to the Mormon religion. Parker and Stone co-created the show with Bobby Lopez, who later won an Oscar for co-writing Frozen's Let It Go.
The musical is touring the UK throughout 2020 - the dates and venue for the Dublin run are yet to be confirmed, but interested parties can sign up for pre-sale tickets via this link, with updates to follow.
