Theresa Kelly explains what motivated her to open her pop-up shop 'Special Occasions' in Edenmore and why she wants every child to enjoy the experience of buying their Holy Communion outfit. The success of the shop is due to the hard work and spirit of the communities coming together.
'I don't do this on my own without shopkeepers, people in communities, everybody pulling together. Everybody has made this experience for the child. And it's something every child should have.’
She emphasises the importance of creating a stress-free experience for both the parent and the child, without having to worry about money. All outfits are paid for on a donation basis, with the proceeds going to a variety of charities and back into the community.
‘We’re just happy that the children and their parents are walking out of here stress-free. And that’s the whole aim.’
