Kim Gordon is best known as the guitarist in legendary US alt-rock outfit Sonic Youth, an indie music icon and in more recent years an acclaimed memoirist - this summer, she's making a visit to Dublin for her first solo art exhibition, at the Irish Museum Of Modern Art.

Gordon's acclaimed oeuvre crosses boundaries between visual art, music, fashion, film, writing and performance, with a reputation for radical experimentation within every field.

Her IMMA show, entitled She bites her tender mind, will feature a series of new works including recent and previously unseen paintings, drawings, and ceramic sculptures, alongside a glitter installation and an immersive video projection.

She bites her tender mind is intended as a 'poetic response' by Gordon to the atmosphere and architecture of IMMA's Courtyard Galleries - a series of four interconnecting rooms that draw upon the domestic sensibility of the galleries as an analogy for contemporary urban lodgings, such as Airbnb.

On Saturday 27 July, to coincide with the opening of the show, An Evening with Kim Gordon takes centre stage in the IMMA Courtyard, featuring live performances by Gordon's experimental electric guitar duo Body/Head, poet Elaine Kahn and guitarist Heather Leigh.
