Feis Ceoil celebrates young Irish musical talent

Young musicians from all over Ireland will gather at the RDS in Dublin this April to play in Ireland’s premier music competition, the Feis Ceoil.

Starting Monday April 1, a new generation of Irish musicians comprising 5000 competitors aged from 7 years old and up, will perform in front of a panel of international adjudicators in two weeks of classical music competitions. Categories include piano, harp, flute, violin, cello, brass and guitar as well as solo and group singing, choirs, opera singers, music composition, orchestral performance and conducting, and many more.

"The Feis holds a special place in the heart of Irish musicians," said Feis Ceoil CEO Laura Gilsenan. "Our competitors inspire us all with their passion, commitment and dedication, and many of them go on to make successful careers in music. Performance experience with independent feedback from an international adjudicator can be an important step on the path to being a musician."
