The seventeenth (!) series of Other Voices will run for nine weeks from Thursday 21st of February, with presenters Annie Mac, Huw Stephens and May Kay introducing an array of remarkable artists: Villagers, Dermot Kennedy, Julien Baker, Gruff Rhys, Maverick Sabre, Jade Bird, Sigrid, Kojaque, Passenger, Mahalia, David Keenan, Little Green Cars and many, many more.

Highlights include hotly tipped UK soul star Mahalia, who returns to Dingle to perform her hits Sober and I Wish I Missed My Ex, South African artist Nakhane, hailed by The Guardian as one to watch and ‘an LGBTQ trailblazer’, Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys and UK up-and-comer Jade Bird, whose unique blend of firey-pop has excited the music industry.

The contemporary music scene in Ireland is vividly showcased, with the likes of David Keenan, Kojaque, Loah, whenyoung, Maria Kelly, TOUTS, Jafaris, Ye Vagabonds and Dermot Kennedy representing the wealth of homegrown talent emerging across all genres of music.
For their first trip to Ballina, Co. Mayo, the Other Voices crew were joined by Memphis contender Julien Baker and the Brit Award’s Critic’s Choice for 2019 winner, Sam Fender. English-Irish soul singer Maverick Sabre, who grew up in New Ross, Co. Wexford, also made his OV debut in Ballina, performing music from his forthcoming record When I Wake Up, while longtime friend of the show Conor O'Brien returns with Villagers to perform songs from their number one record The Art of Pretending to Swim.
Elsewhere, an IMRO Other Room Special presents winners of the OV Open Call 2018: Pow Pig, Columbia Mills, Mango x Mathman, I Have A Tribe and Kitt Philipa.
