Spike, the Dublin Alternative Cello Festival, will take place this weekend in Dublin, across various venues. The festival will feature workshops, concerts in various genres of music, and something called 'yoga cello'.

But on Friday, the opening evening of the festival, an intriguing gig will take place in the Workman's Club, in Dublin's Temple Bar. It will feature music, audio and video performance by Claire Fitch, formerly a cellist with the RTE National Symphony Orchestra, but now a composer of music and soundscapes for video games.
