Playing with Words is an evening of song, poetry, prose, a journey though Irish sport and writing.
Our panel discuss how literature, poetry, plays and song have helped celebrate sporting moments. Do writers on sport present it as a masculine preserve, and if so, does it reinforce the inequality that already exits in the real sporting world around us? And we also examine how major sporting moments have impacted on Irish society, and the impact this has had on Irish literature.
The night brings together actors, musicians, historians, curators, and writers for a lively, eclectic and informative event.
