Cultural hits from RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra principal guest conductor Nathalie Stutzmann
Nathalie Stutzmann is principal guest conductor with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra. She is in Dublin this weekend to conduct the orchestra on Friday, 20 April at 7.30 pm in the National Concert Hall. The programme features Rachmaninoff’s second piano concerto and Brahms first symphony.
Film
The Post for Meryl Streep I adore. I go and see all her films, she’s such a fabulous and inspiring actress. And Call me by your name by Luca Guadagnino, a beautiful and moving story of desire, wonderfully filmed and interpreted.

Music
My concert with the RTÉ NSO this Friday evening of course J Brahms’ Symphony No. 1 is one of my favourite. And for Saturday night, maybe listening to some Irish music while enjoying a Guinness at O'Donoghues just a few steps away from the National Concert Hall. After having spend a relaxing day and eaten a delicious seafood lunch by the sea in Howth.

Book
I like to read books which actually take place in the same cities I stay. So these days I’m reading a novel taking place in Dublin, "The Salesman" by Joseph O’Connor. Among other good books I’ve read recently, I’d recommend "Fish have no feet" by Jon Kalman Stefansson and "Entry Island" by Peter May.
Play
I loved "Les Fourberies de Scapin" by Molière staged at the Comédie Française in Paris early this year. Absolutely brilliant, played like a farce and with excellent actors. Molière was such a great playwright.

Television Programme
The Crown on Netflix. I’ve been a fan from the start! And rugby matches too, I watch them as often as I can. I was so happy that Ireland won the Grand Slam in the Six Nations Championship last month.

Art
I recently enjoyed the Gauguin exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris. And I’m looking forward to the Canaletto exhibition at the National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin early next year.
Radio/Podcast
I’m a fan of the Public Domain Classical Jazz chanel on Swiss Radio. No advertising, no talking, only music! I also like Tom Service’s show Music Matters on BBC 3 which invited me last year when I conducted the London Philharmonic. When I’m in Dublin I like listening to Morning Ireland on RTÉ Radio 1 to get informed on what’s going on in the country.
Tech
Weather pro, Reverso converter and Vivino are some apps I use. Websites, I very often go on YouTube to listen to different interpretations and love watching videos on the Berliner Philharmoniker Digital Concert Hall.
The Next Big Thing
I can’t wait to conduct Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 here in Dublin next month! I’m also excited about the Asian tour with my orchestra Orfeo 55 in May where I’ll be singing for the very first time in China, and also conducting Mefistofele at the famous opera festival Les Chorégies d’Orange in France in July. I’ll be the first woman to conduct there. I’ll then be looking forward to some nice relaxing holidays by the Mediterranean Sea
