The artist occasionally known as Kittser has just received a RTÉ Choice Music Prize nomination for From Night To Night, the debut album from his electronic alter ego New Jackson. His new EP, Still Don't Know, is out now, and his first album in nine years, Yous, will be released in March.

Film

I really enjoyed McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri. Always love Frances McDormand.

Book

Sometimes it takes a book to unlock the world of particular writer and then you're in and want to read everything you can get your hands on. The Rings of Saturn by W.G. Sebald might be his most acclaimed book, and it's incredible but it took Austerlitz to unlock his world for me, after a few failed attempts at reading Rings of Saturn I could go back to it and read it with pleasure. A recent cracker was Beatlebone by Kevin Barry which again felt like a gateway into his world, can't wait for his next one now.

Play

I'm not a big theatre goer but as a Beckett fan I try to go whenever there's a good production of one of his works on. The Gate Theatre production of Waiting for Godot with Barry McGovern and Johnny Murphy, directed by Walter Asmus, was pitch perfect in terms of getting that element of black humour right. It felt as close as you could get to Beckett's original vision.

TV

I don't have a television so it's box sets and streaming in general. I was very happy to see Larry David's return this year. It wasn't all vintage but I'll always love L.D.. The Fatwa, The Musical thread was particularly hilarious.

Gig

Fleetwood Mac at the 3 Arena a couple of years ago. I couldn't get a ticket for love nor money so I put a post up on Facebook and some kind soul from Donegal agreed to meet me outside with a spare she had. She's had a few pre-gig sherries and was quite tipsy and stuck in traffic running late but made it just in time and I ran in to the opening strains of The Chain. The gig was flawless, as good as they've ever been with the wonderful Christine McVie back in the line-up on keys and singing Songbird. One of the best gigs I've ever seen.

Art

I really enjoyed the As Above, So Below: Portals, Visions, Spirits & Mystics show at IMMA last year. It was a superbly curated show that brought together disparate elements in a way that hung together really well and definitely got my cogs turning. Meant to go back again.

Podcast

I love Krista Tippet's On Being for a life-affirming shot in the arm. Every Irish person should listen to the episode with John O'Donohue entiltled 'The Inner Landscape of Beauty'. What a beautiful man, who sadly passed away in 2008.

Tech

I'm been slipping down the rabbit hole of modular synthesis. Getting more and more techy with age.
