From The 2FM Archives: Nicky and Jenny did a memorable sit down interview with Dolores O'Riordan and the Cranberries last April.
They spoke about how the band only appreciated their work and the success they had achieved in the later years, as they were 'so much caught up in work' in the early days, and remember the relief they experienced when they first received a call from their record company, to say they were signed.
Dolores told both Nicky and Jenny how she found it so hard to sing the single No Need to Argue as she found it too raw and it made her cry.

Dolores O'Riordan was just 18 years old when she wrote Linger. Dolores told Nicky and Jenny that she was in love with a guy whom she had her first kiss with, and how he broke her heart and "out came Linger". He subsequently wrote her a letter 10 years later apologising for breaking her heart.
Nicky remembers the occasion in 2001 when Westlife played in the Vatican for the Pope; Westlife were due to preform with a 100 piece orchestra and had missed their soundcheck as their flight was delayed coming from Germany. Dolores tells the story of how she "bailed them out". The boys were due to perform The Little Drummer Boy, but it was pitched too high.
Nicky and Dolores remembered meet each other in the corridor of the Vatican; they had never met before but he asked her for assistance with the song - resulting in a rather memorable performance.
