It's that time of year again, as tuned in souls from across the land make the pilgrimage to Kerry to participate in the unique Irish tradition that is Other Voices.
Since 2003, Other Voices has brought a magical mix of musical personalities to St. James' Church in Dingle for a session like no other, with the results recorded for future broadcast on RTÉ. Over the years, OV has stretched its wings further and further afield, hosting events everywhere from Derry to Berlin to Austin, Texas - come December, however, founder Philip King and his dedicated crew bring it all back home to the source.
But where to begin? While tickets for the de facto main event - three nights of musical performances in St. James' Church, featuring the likes of Perfume Genius, Songhoy Blues and Django Django - are long gone, the majority of OV punters know that the real fun is to be had enjoying the innumerable ambient pleasures that Other Voices and Dingle itself have to offer, from catching some amazing tunes on the music trail that winds itself around the town, checking out one of Jim Carroll's essential Banter sessions or taking in the Ireland's Edge conference, running parallel with Other Voices and exploring Ireland’s relationship with its diaspora through the lenses of culture and creativity. There's so much going on, it's hard to keep track...

Our advice? Play it by hear, take it as it happens, anticipate the unexpected - and have a blast. Oh, and we almost forgot. Dress warm - it is Dingle in December, after all.
