A major US television series set in the Superman universe is set to be the first production filmed in the new Belfast Harbour studios.
Krypton is set two generations before the destruction of Superman's home planet, and tells the hitherto untold story of Superman's grandfather, played by British actor Cameron Cuffe, most recently seen alongside Meryl Streep in Florence Foster Jenkins.
The show is executive produced by David S. Goyer, co-writer on a number of DC Comics superhero projects, including Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy of Batman movies and Man Of Steel, with Sleepy Hollow creator Damian Kindler serving as showrunner.

Filming on the series will begin later this month - Scots director Colm McCarthy (Sherlock, Peaky Blinders, The Girl With All The Gifts) helmed the pilot episode. The ensemble cast also includes veteran Belfast actor Ian McElhinney, best known to international TV audiences as Game Of Thrones' Barristan Selmy
The production marks the officially completion of the €23M Belfast Harbour studios, set on an 8 acre site on the 340 acre Giant’s Park, the largest development site in Belfast city. The complex consists of two film studios, as well as workshops and production offices - plans are already afoot to expand the facility to an adjoining two-acre site.
