Acclaimed US jazz vocalist Curtis Stigers arrives in Dublin this Saturday night for a very special performance with The RTÉ Concert Orchestra at the National Concert Hall - and we're giving you the chance to win tickets.

The RTÉ Concert Orchestra 2016 Signature Series continues with one of the most distinctive voices in music, Mister Curtis Stigers. With a 25-year recording career and millions of records sold, the American jazz maestro pushes the boundaries of conventional jazz performers and expands the jazz repertory, creating modern jazz standards.

From his 90s days of long hair and hits like I Wonder Why and You're All that Matters to Me, Stigers has forged out a career as one of the most respected jazz vocalists out there. Don't mention the mullet - in a funny FAQ on his site he says: '..same guy, Shorter hair. More gray. By the way, that was never a mullet. Just long hair, one length. Don't let anyone tell you different. Never a mullet. No.'

His voice is as distinctive as ever, and his current repertoire ranges from American Songbook classics to numbers by Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and Steve Earle, as well as songs forever associated with Stigers himself – like You’re All That Matters To Me, Never Saw a Miracle and I Wonder Why.

Curtis has recorded duets with Shawn Colvin, Jules Shear, Julia Fordham and Al Green, toured with Elton John, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker and George Benson and written songs with Carole King and Paul Brady.

Has won the London Times Jazz Album of the Year, been named Jazz Artist of the Year by BBC Radio 2 and been named International Male Jazz Singer of the Year at the inaugural Jazz Echo Awards. As he says, though: ‘I suppose they are jazz records, but they don’t necessarily fall into one category.  This guy’s confusing.’ Confusing in the best way possible.
