Win tickets to Kings of the Kilburn High Road

Critically acclaimed worldwide, Jimmy Murphy's classic play The Kings of the Kilburn High Road plays at Dublin's Gaiety Theatre on Tuesday 1st November until Saturday 12th November 2016, in a new production from Livin’ Dred Theatre Company & Verdant Productions, directed by Padraic McIntyre.

The Kings of the Kilburn High Road tells the story of group of young men who leave 1970s Ireland in the hope of making their fortunes in England. Twenty-five years later only one, Jackie Flavin, makes it home, but does so in a coffin. When the five Irish friends gather in the side room of a London pub for an informal wake – they drink to the memory of a lost friend. Secrets are revealed and lies are uncovered as they journey through their lives as they dream of their place in a new Ireland.

The Kings of the Kilburn High Road was adapted into a motion picture, directed by Tom Collins, and selected as Ireland's official entry for the 2008 Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.

This revival features a quintet of veteran Irish actors: Phelim Drew, Malcolm Adams, Arthur Riordan, Seamus O’Rourke and Charlie Bonner.

The Kings of The Kilburn High Road plays The Gaiety Theatre, Dublin, from Tuesday 1st – Saturday 12th November, with matinees on Saturday 5th & Saturday 12th November.
