Born in Scotland, and currently based in Germany, painter Selena Mowat was resident for many years in Donegal, where she created a series of acclaimed paintings of local residents. In 2013, she was the Irish winner of the Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year competition.
Artist's Statement: 'My current work jostles between representation and abstraction and experiments with the possibilities of painting both through its language and material substance. I’m interested in blurring the boundaries between reality, memory and the imagined.'
