Legendary DJ Larry Gogan talked to Sean O'Rourke today about being on air on 2fm (then Radio 2!) since the '60s and how he started out in the music game.

Over the years, he has had people like Larry Mullen, Glen Campbell, Roy Orbison and Garth Brooks in studio, while becoming Larry Mullen's 'interviewer of choice'.

In a remarkably candid interview, Larry also spoke about losing the people he loved, and still loves: he lost his father when he was just 10 years old and his beloved wife Florrie - who "was only 15 when we fell in love, 18 when we started going out, married at 21." - died from breast cancer at the age of 60. "I still talk to her every day, all the time," Larry says.

A tireless champion for new Irish music, Gogan still hosts The Golden Hour on RTÉ 2FM every Saturday and Sunday. All hail Ireland's original superstar DJ!
