Listen Up: Irish comedy All-Stars unite for Comedy Showhouse Hour

Last weekend saw the premiere of RTÉ Radio 1's Comedy Showhouse Hour, presenting 12 shiny new half-hour radio comedies broadcast across the course of six weeks, showcasing live performances from an assortment of the biggest names in Irish comedy, including (deep breath) Al Porter, The Nualas, Seán Hughes, Andrew Maxwell, Deirdre O'Kane, Karl Spain, Maxine Jones, Gearóid Farrelly, Amy Huberman, Aindrias De Staic, Foil Arms & Hog, Fiona Looney and Colm O’Regan. Funny feckers all..

Across the six weeks, the first half of the Comedy Showhouse Hour will feature Don’t Quote Me! – a lively panel show in which Irish comedy legend Sean Hughes presides over two teams, headed up by Andrew Maxwell and Fiona Looney, who explore and dissect quotes - sometimes controversial, often offensive – across a wide range of themes, personalities and subjects designed to spark (a) witty commentary, (b) comic discussion and (c) often ridiculous debate. Be warned - it gets silly. Very silly.
