Forget the smokey eye - it is al about the TikTok famous cut crease trend when it comes to sultry, shimmery eyes right now.
As Glow Up Ireland continues on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player this week with a brand new episode and new set of challenges for the MUAs, we can't help but feel inspired to branch out a little when it comes to our everyday make-up look.
While we can't hope to emulate the absolute art that some of the contestants create on the show, we can pick up a few tips and tricks.
We've teamed up with MUA Aideen Kate to translate some of the techniques from the show into wearable, doable make-up looks to broaden your beauty repertoire.
This week's episode was all about using pre-owned or upcycled objects for a sustainable TikTok challenge with Ireland's biggest beauty influencer Keilidh Cashell (@KeilidhMUA) stepping in as guest judge.
The 9 remaining MUAs have just three minutes to rummage through the Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun to find something that they can integrate into their Tik Tok look. Given the monumental task at hand and the mere minutes the contestants were allowed, the looks created were incredible!
Then, in nail-biting the Face-Off challenge, we were introduced to the 'cut crease' eye look.
While it might sound rather intimidating, the cut crease is a look you can easily master at home. MUA Aideen Kate shows us how to use brown and gold shades to create a gorgeous shimmery cut-crease in this quick instructional video (above).
The trick is to create definition by 'cutting' the eyelid with shading then add a pop of sparkle to make eyes really stand-out. Pair this high impact eye look with a nude, understated lip for your next girl's night out!
