Craft Master - the search for Ireland's next big thing in craft returns for a second series!
Over the course of the six part series, presenter Sonya Lennon will meet a total of fifteen apprentices all hoping to represent their chosen craft in the final of Craft Master. And the prize? A stand at the largest international trade fair in the country, Showcase - Ireland's Creative Expo in January 2014 and with the Irish Craft Industry being worth almost half a billion Euro annually it's all to play for.
The series is broken down into six shows with the first five shows focusing on Millinery with Linda McKay in Thomastown, Furniture with top maker Michael Bell, Jewellery with iconic jeweler Alan Ardiff, Knitting with catwalk success Edel MacBride and Basketry with Cathy Hayden down in the sunny South East.
Each week Brian McGee, Head of Market Development with the Crafts Council of Ireland, joins Sonya to decide who should represent the given craft in the Final Show.
The overall winner will be decided upon by Sonya and Brian who will be joined by two of Ireland's top designers, Louise Kennedy and Paul Costelloe to decide who is the cream of the crop and deserving of a stand in Showcase - Ireland's International Trade Fair.
The series is brought to you by Big Mountain Productions in collaboration with the Crafts Council of Ireland and is made with the support of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) and Raidió Teilifís Éireann.
