What happens when the true sporting passion of GAA club football meets the glitzy world of Irish celebrity; when community pride meets fake tan; when red carpet meets red lemonade? What happens is Celebrity Bainisteoir which returns for a third series on RTÉ One, Sunday 6.30pm, from 19th September.
The competing celebrities, in this seven-part series, are Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh, Gavin Duffy, Mairead Farrell, Derek Burke (Crystal Swing), Peter Kelly (Franc), Andrew Maxwell, Breffny Morgan, and Nuala Carey.
The eight celebrities will each manage an intermediate club football team. The teams they will lead are: Ballymun Kickhams GFC, Dublin (Mairead Farrell), Fermoy GFC, Cork (Peter Kelly), Roche Emmets GFC, Louth (Gavin Duffy), Kilconly GFC, Galway (Breffny Morgan), Irvinestown GFC, Fermanagh (Andrew Maxwell), Nobber GFC, Meath (Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh), Shannonbridge GFC, Offaly (Nuala Carey), Castleisland Desmonds, Castleisland, Kerry (Derek Burke with a little help from Mum Mary).
The third series of Celebrity Bainisteoir has two fundamental changes and this year's celebrities face the toughest challenge yet. The series will be centred around two mega mentors in two GAA legends; Ciarán Whelan and Liam Kearns will oversee all celebrities and ensure that they are giving the job everything they have. With no team allegiances, the two mentors are determined to make these celebs the best Bainisteoirí they can be.
This year, there's no room for slacking and relying on others to dig them out. The challenge of being a celebrity Bainisteoir is now tougher than ever before and the celebrities will be closely monitored and set new challenges the whole way through the process.
The second change is that the teams will have to earn the right to a home draw. Both teams will go head to head in a physical challenge under army supervision to decide who is going to get to play at home.
Programme One - Will the glamour gaelgoirs or the king of laughter claim victory on the pitch?
On programme one of the new series of Celebrity Bainisteoir comedian Andrew Maxwell's Fermanagh team will meet Blaithnaid Ni Cofaigh's Meath in a first round clash that sees our celebs go on a journey from their brightly lit worlds into the heartland of the GAA.

The tournament is officially sanctioned by the GAA and will consist of four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and the final, which is to be played at Parnell Park in Dublin.
Programme Two - TV wedding planner Peter Kelly takes on Radio star Mairead Farrell
Episode two of Celebrity Bainisteoir sees TV wedding planner Peter Kelly (aka Franc) meet TV and radio star Mairead Farrell in a battle between country and city as Peter's Fermoy GFC take on Mairead's Ballymun Kickhams.
For Mairead, a life long Dubs' supporter, it's an opportunity to not only be the first celebrity to bring a Dublin team beyond the quarter final stage of Celebrity Bainisteoir (Both Glenda Gilson and George Hook having failed to do so in the previous seasons) but also a chance to do better then her radio boss Ray D'Arcy did when he took the reigns of the Kildare team last year and was knocked out after one game.
For Peter it's all about Fermoy, the town he calls home. Having won the right to host the match Peter is determined that Fermoy put on an event the likes of which isn't seen too often in rural GAA clubs.
Programme Three - Dragon Gavin Duffy faces young Apprentice Breffny Morgan
In episode three of the new series of Celebrity Bainisteoir, Dragon Gavin Duffy and his Louth team face Breffny Morgan, the young Apprentice, and his Galway team. This third quarter final sees these self-styled gurus apply their business knowledge to the GAA pitch with very different and entertaining results. Losing to the other is not an option for our two Bainisteoirí.
Will the young pretender Breffny get one up on his idol Gavin? How will our two GAA teams cope with these two titanic personalities? This is the ultimate battle of the suits in the latest game in Celebrity Bainisteoir. All will be revealed as we follow them in their bid for GAA greatness.

In episode four of the new series of Celebrity Bainisteoir Derek Burke from Crystal Swing and Castleisland Desmonds of Kerry square off against weather presenter Nuala Carey, the girl next door, and picturesque Shannonbridge of Offaly.
Will the 19-year-old Derek be taken seriously by a team of GAA obsessed Kerry men? Will they take to the 'hucklebuck' king? Or how will our diminutive weather presenter cope with managing a football team? This is the fantastic replay of the classic 1982 football final where Offaly stopped Kerry's bid for 5-in-a-row. Will the Kerry men achieve some measure of revenge or will Offaly honour their pedigree. All will be revealed as we follow them in their bid for GAA greatness.
Programme Five - The young Apprentice Breffny Morgan takes on the young Derek Burke from Crystal Swing
In episode five of the new series of Celebrity Bainisteoir Derek Burke from Crystal Swing and his Castleisland Desmonds of Kerry square off against the eternal reality TV man Breffny Morgan and the men of Kilconly Co Galway in the first Semi Final.
It's the battle of the young guns as 19-year-old Derek faces 23-year-old Breffny. Both are now established Bainisteoirí having overcome initial resistance to their methods. Once again however they must prove themselves as the stakes are raised with a place in the final at stake. Neither team won the home draw in the fist round and now both teams want to bring the match home to secure that all important home advantage.
Always under the eye of mentors Liam Kearns and Ciarán Whelan they have also a surprise in store for our Bainisteoirí as they aim to show the young lads what it talks to be a real GAA manager. And the match proves to be a real battle between two great football titans with one bainisteoir left in tatters at a dramatic defeat.
