Traffic

TRAVEL 

LUAS: There will be no Luas Green Line services between St. Stephen’s Green and Beechwood stops today (26th) due to works. A replacement bus service will operate between these stops. Check the Luas website for more information.

NATIONAL TRAFFIC 

WEXFORD: A section of the Castlebridge/Gorey Rd (R741) remains closed until further notice just north of Oulart following a fatal collision. 

WICKLOW: There are reports of animals loose on the N11 northbound at J7 Bray South.

FERMANAGH: There's a queue of 3km on the Dublin Rd (A4) heading in to Enniskillen from the Lisbellaw side. This is likely due to a match that is taking place there today. (See EVENTS below).

CORK: Traffic is very busy both ways on the N72 Navigation Rd in Mallow near the Racecourse.

There are eastbound delays in to Macroom on the N22.

Meanwhile, it’s slow heading in to Castlemartyr on the N25 from the Midleton side. 

LIMERICK: There's a queue of almost 3km on the N21 northbound through Adare.

KERRY: It’s busy now into Killarney on Beech Rd and Mission Rd.

MAYO: Works are causing delays on the N59 at Kilmeena, about 4km from Westport on the Newport side. 

OFFALY: The delays are easing on Arden Rd (R421) heading in to Tullamore from the Kilbeggan side.

It’s also improving on the N52 approaching the Cloncollog R/A from the Killeigh side and approaching the roundabout from the Geashill Rd. 

CITY TRAFFIC

GALWAY:

There are delays on the Old Dublin Rd inbound from Martin R/A.

Meanwhile, Bothar na dTreabh is slow from Briarhill to Ballybrit. Further along this route, it’s busy approaching Kirwan R/A.

Headford Rd also has delays through this roundabout and further in heading towards Salmon Weir Bridge.

Well Park Rd is slow inbound to Moneenageisha.

Quite busy too around Salthill, especially along the Promenade.

WATERFORD:

There is slow traffic on the Dock Rd from Ferrybank, over Rice Bridge and through to the quays. 

CORK:

Traffic is moving well in Cork City. 

LIMERICK: 

Traffic is light in Limerick City. 

DUBLIN TRAFFIC

Traffic is quite busy both ways on Clontarf Rd near St Anne’s Park.

Clarehall Rd has eastbound delays heading towards Northern Cross.

No incidents to report for the city centre.

Traffic is moving well now on the M50 both ways.

Events

EVENTS

DUBLIN: House Interior Design Event takes place in the RDS today (26th).The event will run until 7pm. Extra traffic can be expected through Ballsbridge and Sandymount; on the Merrion Rd, Simmonscourt Rd, Shelbourne Rd and Pembroke Rd. However, the heaviest traffic is likely on Anglesea Rd. The RDS is serviced by bus routes number 4, 5, 7, 7a and 8, which stop outside the RDS on Merrion Road.

DUBLIN: A tractor run will take place in North County Dublin today (26th) from midday. It will begin and end at Balscadden Village, just north of Balbriggan.  Approx. 110 tractors are expected to take part. Expect extra traffic on the following routes in particular: the road linking Naul to the M1 (R122), the Naul/Ballyboughal Rd (R108), the road between Ballyboughal and Blakes Cross (R129), and the Old N1 (R132) between Blakes Cross and Balbriggan.

OFFALY: There will be a double-header at O'Connor Park in Tullamore today for the Quarter-Final of the Leinster Senior Football Championship. At 2pm, Westmeath will play Laois, and at 4pm, Longford take on Kildare. Delays can be expected on the N52 Tullamore Bypass to/from the M7, and around the town itself before and after the matches.

FERMANAGH: Fermanagh play Donegal at Brewster Park in Enniskillen in the Quarter-Final of the Ulster Senior Football Championship today. Throw-in was at 2pm. Expect delays in the vicinity of the stadium on Erne Rd and Factory Rd. It's also likely to be slow on the A46 Long Shore Rd and the A32 Irvinestown Rd before and after the match.

GALWAY: Today, Galway will play Wexford in Round 3 of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championships at Pearse Stadium in Salthill. Throw-in is at 4pm. Delays can be expected towards Galway City on the N6 before the match. It's also likely to be very busy through Salthill and on the Barna Rd before and after the match.

KILDARE: Today, Party in the Park takes place at Mondello Park. The event runs until 5pm with over 1,500 people expected to attend. Motorists should expect delays on the Naas/ Allenwood Rd (R409), the local Naas/Allen Rd and also exiting J10 Naas South on the M7.

ROADWORKS

ULSTER

CAVAN: A stop/go system will be in place for works on the N3 between Lisgrey and Virginia until today (26th) from 9am to 4:30pm.

DONEGAL: Rolling works will take place in Letterkenny on the N14 between the Dry Arch R/A and the Polestar R/A, and between there and the Middle Rd jct on the N56 Ramelton Rd until August.

DONEGAL: Works are in place on the N56 at Illistrin, between Letterkenny and Kilmacrennan until approx. August.

DONEGAL: In Rathmullen, Weslayan St (R247) will be closed for works between the Main St and Pound St jcts until Thurs 30th May.

MONAGHAN: A temporary road layout is in place on the N2 at the bridge just north of the Coolshannagh R/A in Monaghan Town, until approx. July 2020. There is a reduced speed limit of 30kmph over the bridge.

MONAGHAN: Temporary traffic lights are in place on the N2 south of Emyvale, near Corracrin National School, along with a reduced speed limit of 50kmph, until approx. October.

MONAGHAN: The Ballybay/Shercock Rd (R162) will be closed just south of Ballybay as far as it is junction with the Cootehill Rd (R192)  from 8am until 6pm each day until the end of November.

LEINSTER

KILDARE: As part of the ongoing works on the M7, varying lane restrictions and reduced speed limits of 60kmph are in place both ways between J8 Johnstown and J11 M9 until further notice.

KILKENNY: Lane closures and a stop/go system will be in place for works on the N25 at Glenmore, on the Waterford City side of New Ross until Fri 21st June. 

KILKENNY: Parliament St in Kilkenny will close for works until Thurs 30th May. Mon to Thurs it will close between 6:30pm and 1am. Each Sunday it will close from 6am to 1pm. Diversions will be in place.

LAOIS: A one-way system will be in place for works on the Mountmellick Rd in Portlaoise, part of the N80, from 8am to 7pm daily until Mon 15th July. Traffic leaving Portlaoise will diverted via Market Square and the ring road.

LONGFORD: A section of the Ballymahon/Lanesborough Rd (R392) will be closed for works about 4km outside Lanesborough, near the turn-off for Killashee, until Fri 14th June. Local diversions will be in place.

LONGFORD: A stop/go system will be in place for works on the N55 at the bridge in Ballymahon town until Fri 14th June.

LOUTH: Church St and Clanbrassil St in Dundalk (R132) have been made one-way southbound until the end of November. Northbound traffic will be diverted via The Long Walk and The Laurels.

OFFALY: High St and Bridge St in Tullamore have been made one-way for works until the end of June. Traffic towards Colmcille St is being diverted via Cormac St and Main St.

WESTMEATH: Temporary traffic lights will be in place for works on the N52 between Mullingar and Delvin until further notice between 7am to 7pm approx each day.

MEATH: Works are in place at the junction of the N51 and Abbey Rd in Navan until 5pm on Fri 21st June. During this time, the link road between the N51 and Abbey Rd will be closed. The N51 will also be closed to northbound traffic between the Kells Rd and Ratholdren Rd jcts between 10am and 4:30pm on certain dates during this time period. Diversions will be in place.

WEXFORD: A new road layout is in place on the M11 near the Clogh R/A, between Gorey and Camolin. Southbound traffic will use a diverge ramp between the Clogh R/A and a new roundabout on that stretch. This will be in place until further notice.

WEXFORD: A reduced speed limit of 50kmph and lane restrictions are in place for works on the N11 at the Scarawalsh R/A north of Enniscorthy until further notice.

WEXFORD: A stop/go system will be in place on the N25 at the Clonard Rd jct between Maldron R/A and Whitford R/A for overnight works between 8pm and 6am until further notice.

MUNSTER

CORK: Works are taking place on the N71 just outside Rosscarbery on the Skibbereen side until approx. mid-June. Delays can be expected.

CORK: Works will be in place the N28 north of the Shannonpark R/A until Fri 31st May. 

CORK: Traffic restrictions will be in place for works on the N25 approx 2km east of Castlemartyr until Fri 31st May. 

CORK: Works are in place on the N28 at the Raffeen/ Monkstown turn-off near Ringaskiddy until approx Mon 10th June. The right-turn lanes have reopened in both directions

CORK: The Midleton/Cloyne Rd (R629) is closed for works approx halfway between Ballinacurra and Cloyne itself until 6pm on Fri 14th June. Diversions will be via Whitewell Cross and the Whitegate Rd (R630).

KERRY: Works will be in place on the N70 at Dromquinna, between Kenmare and Templenoe, until approx. the end of May.

KERRY: A stop/go system will be in place on the N70 on the Tralee side of Killorglin until approx. the end of June.  

LIMERICK: Reduced speed limits are in place for works on the N21 between Newcastle West and Abbeyfeale near Templeglantine in Limerick until approx. Fri 21st June.

TIPPERARY: Works take place on N24 at Davitt St in Tipperary Town until approx. the end of September. Expect delays.

CONNACHT

GALWAY: A stop/go system is in place on the N83 for works about halfway between Tuam and Dunmore until approx. the end of November.

GALWAY: Temporary traffic lights and a stop/go system will be in place for works on the N63 at the crossroads in Ballygar until approx. mid-June.

LEITRIM: A new road layout is in place in Carrick-on-Shannon, with parts of the Leitrim Rd and Priest’s Lane now one-way. There is no access from Main St onto the Leitrim Rd in either direction. Take caution and follow all signs in the area.

MAYO: Temporary traffic lights are in place for works on the N59 at Kilmeena, approx. 4km from Westport on the Newport side, until approx. the end of 2019.

MAYO: Works are in place on the N60 just outside Balla on the Castlebar side until approx. December.

ROSCOMMON: A stop/go system will be in place for works on the N5 in Tulsk until Fri 21st June.

ROSCOMMON: The Castleplunket/Castlerea Rd (R377) will be closed for works until 6pm on Wed 29th May. Diversions will be in place via the N60. 

SLIGO: A stop/go system will be in place for works on the N4 between Collooney and Castlebaldwin until 2021.
