Traffic

NATIONAL TRAFFIC 

CORK: In Midleton, a truck is stuck on the Bailick Rd under the N25 flyover bridge, so expect traffic on other routes in the Midleton and Ballinacurra areas.

MAYO: Traffic is quite slow this morning at the works on the N60, outside Balla on the Castlebar side.

KILDARE: It’s slow through Sallins for traffic coming from Clane.

It’s still busy on all approaches into Kilcullen, especially from the Brannockstown side (R413).

LIMERICK: Traffic is a little slow at the N69 roadworks at Askeaton.

TIPPERARY: Traffic is slow again this morning on the Old Dublin Rd, at the roadworks between Cashel and Horse and Jockey.

ROSCOMMON: The N60 will be closed for works at Ballydooley, approx. halfway between Ballymoe and Roscommon Town, until 5pm Fri 25th Oct. Diversions will be in place.

WEXFORD: A stop/go system will be in place for works on the N11 just south of Oilgate today (20th) from 9am to 6pm. Lane restrictions will then in place on this stretch until Fri 5th Oct, then a stop/go system will be in place again until approx. Fri 1st Nov.

DONEGAL: Works will be in place on the N13 at Moness, between Burt and Newtown Cunningham, until approx. Fri 4th Oct.

DUBLIN TRAFFIC

Gardai are dealing with a collision inbound on the Stillorgan Rd at the Eglinton Rd jct. Traffic is slow on approach. Traffic is also slow coming from Beaver Row and on the Stillorgan Rd itself, delays are almost back to Nutley Lane.

A collision has been moved to the hard shoulder of the M50 southbound between J12 Firhouse and J13 Ballinteer. Traffic remains slow on approach.

Leaving Lucan, there’s a queue heading towards the N4 on Adamstown Rd (R120).

Botanic Rd inbound is busy approaching Hart's Corner on the Phibsborough Rd.

Eastbound traffic along the Grand Canal is slow between Portobello and Leeson St.

Kevin St remains busy from the Patrick St jct heading towards St Stephen’s Green.

Amiens St has eased from before the Five Lamps to Beresford Place.

Ratoath Rd is moving better passing Tolka Valley Park heading towards Cabra Village.

Dundrum Rd has improved from the Luas bridge to Bird Ave.

CITY TRAFFIC 

WATERFORD:  

Traffic is slow heading towards Rice Bridge from the Ferrybank approach.

Rolling roadworks will take place on the Outer Ring Rd (R710) today (20th) between its junctions with the Williamstown R/A and the Dunmore Rd.

CORK:

Traffic is moving reasonably well in Cork City.

GALWAY: 

Quite busy at the moment heading from the Monivea Rd onto the Wellpark Rd towards Moneenageisha.

It’s heavy over Quincentenary Bridge from the Bodkin Jct towards Newcastle.

Traffic is slow through Blackrock in the direction of Salthill.

LIMERICK: 

Traffic is moving well around Limerick City.

EVENTS

CARLOW: Following the National Ploughing Championships, the N80 is closed north of Ballon between Kilnock and Graiguenaspiddogue until midday today (20th). See our blog for full travel details. 

DUBLIN: Culture Night takes place in Dublin City today (20th). To facilitate the event, Dame St will be closed between College Green and George's St from 7pm to 11pm.

DUBLIN: Higher Options takes place at the RDS today (20th) from 9am to 3pm. Expect extra traffic through Ballsbridge on the Merrion Rd particularly at peak morning times. There are lots of public transport options available however. Dublin Bus routes number 4, 5, 7, 7a and 8 stop outside the RDS on Merrion Road.The RDS is also very close to both Sandymount and Lansdowne Rd DART stations.

TIPPERARY: Trip to Tipp takes place in Semple Stadium Thurles today and again tomorrow (21st). Gates open at 10am today and 2pm tomorrow (21st). Patrons are encouraged to use public transport where possible.

ROADWORKS

ULSTER

CAVAN: Works will be in place through Ballyconnell on the N87 until approx. the end of September.

DONEGAL: Works will be in place on the N13 at Moness, between Burt and Newtown Cunningham, until approx. Fri 4th Oct.

DONEGAL: Temporary traffic lights remain in place on the N56 north of Glenties between Letterilly and Kilkenny until approx. the end of October.

MONAGHAN: The N2 will be closed for overnight works between Castleblayney and Monaghan Town until Wed 25th Sept, 7pm to 7am the following morning. Diversions will be in place.

MONAGHAN: A temporary road layout is in place on the N2 at the bridge just north of the Coolshannagh R/A in Monaghan Town, until approx. July 2020. There is a reduced speed limit of 30kmph over the bridge.

MONAGHAN: The Ballybay/Shercock Rd (R162) will be closed just south of Ballybay as far as it is junction with the Cootehill Rd (R192) from 8am until 6pm each day until the end of November.

LEINSTER

CARLOW: Works will be in place on the N80 on the Kildavin side of Bunclody until Fri 25th Oct.

DUBLIN: Works are taking place in Dublin Port until further notice – traffic heading into the port has no right turn at the roundabout from Promenade Rd down to Tolka Quay Rd and must continue straight on to the next junction. Tolka Quay Rd itself is partially closed at the Bond Drive jct. Diversions are in place.

DUBLIN: Rathbeale Rd (R125) in Swords, will be closed for works between its junction with Ardcian Park and the Oldtown/Mooretown jct until Fri 20th Dec.

DUBLIN: Overnight works will take place on the M50 in both directions between J14 Leopardstown Rd and the M11 merge. Southbound works will be in place until Fri 11th Oct, with northbound starting on Mon 23rd Sept and ending on Fri 8th Nov. The works will be in place from 10pm to 6am each night. Temporary closures will apply at times during the works, with traffic diverted via the N11, Leopardstown Rd, Ballyogan Rd and Wyattville Rd.

KILDARE: The M9 will close for overnight works between J2 Kilcullen and the M7 tonight and again tomorrow (21st), between the hours of 9:30pm and 9am. Diversions are in place via the Kilcullen Rd (R448) and the road between Kilcullen and the M7 (R413).

KILDARE: There’s a new layout on M7 northbound at J10 Naas South. There is now a new on-ramp, joining the motorway a little earlier than the old one, which has been closed. Take care on this stretch.

LONGFORD: A stop/go system and a reduced speed limit will be in place on the N4 for works on the Edgeworthstown side of Longford Town until Mon 23rd Sept.

MEATH: Main St in Slane (part of the N51 route) will be closed on the Navan side of the town for works today (20th) between 10am and 4pm. Local access will be maintained.

WESTMEATH: Temporary traffic lights will be in place for works on the N52 between Mullingar and Delvin until further notice between 7am and 7pm each day.

WEXFORD: Works will be in place on the Old N11 between Enniscorthy and Oilgate, just north of the end of the new M11, today (20th). 

WEXFORD: A stop/go system will be in place for works on the N11 just south of Oilgate today (20th) from 9am to 6pm. Lane restrictions will then in place on this stretch until Fri 5th Oct, then a stop/go system will be in place again until approx. Fri 1st Nov.

WEXFORD: Works will be in place on the Old N11 between Enniscorthy and Oilgate, just north of the end of the new M11 today (20th). 

WEXFORD: A stop/go system will be in place for works on the N25 between Kilrane and Rosslare Harbour today (20th) between 8am and 6pm. 

WEXFORD: A stop/go system will be in place for works on the N25 between New Ross and Wexford Town near Carrickbyrne today (20th). 

WEXFORD: A stop/go system will be in place for works on the Castlebridge/Oulart Rd (R741) at Ballymartin Crossroad until Tuesday (24th) from 8am-7pm each day.

MUNSTER

CORK: Bog Rd (R591) in Durrus village (south of Bantry) will close to facilitate works until 8pm Fri 11th Oct. Local diversions will be in place.

CORK: The Crookstown/Kealkill Rd (R585) will be closed for works at Coppeen for works until Fri 27th Sept. Diversions will be in place.

CORK: In Carrigaline, Kilmoney Rd Lwr (R611) will be closed for works at Maurland Estate today (20th). Diversions will be in place.

CORK: North Main St (R586) in Bandon will be closed for works until 7pm on Fri 27th Sept.

CORK: A reduced speed limit of 60kmph will be in place for works on the M8 southbound for a 3km stretch between J14 Fermoy North and J15 Fermoy South until Wed 25th Sept.

KERRY: The Tralee/Ballyduff Rd (R556) is closed for works approx. half way between the two towns until further notice.

KERRY: A stop/go system will be in place on the N70 Ring of Kerry at Waterville until Mon 30th Sept between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

LIMERICK: The Castleconnell/O'Briensbridge Rd (R525) is closed for works between the railway bridge and Montpelier until 5pm on Fri 27th Sept.

LIMERICK: A stop/go system will be in place for works on the N69 in Askeaton from until Sat 26th Oct between 8am and 6pm each day.

TIPPERARY: Rolling closures will be in place for works on the N24 in Tipperary Town at the Emmet St jct until approx. 5pm on Fri 11th Oct. Diversions will be signposted.

TIPPERARY: Works are in place on the N24 at Davitt St in Tipperary Town until approx. the end of September. Expect delays.

TIPPERARY: A stop/go system is in place for works on the N52 in Borrisokane until approx. Nov.

WATERFORD: There will be a stop/go system in place on the N25 for works between Lemybrien and Pike Hill until approx. the end of September, from 7am to 7pm each day.

CONNACHT

GALWAY: Rolling works will be in place on the Tuam Rd (N83) between the Parkmore turn-off and the Bóthar na dTreabh jct until October.

GALWAY: A stop/go system is in place on the N83 for works about halfway between Tuam and Dunmore until approx. the end of November.

GALWAY: Works are in place on the N59 approx. halfway between Recess and Maam Cross until late October.

LEITRIM: Rolling works will be in place on the N16, starting approx. 3km outside of Manorhamilton on the Sligo side and continuing into Manorhamilton. The works will be in place until approx. November. The eastbound lane will be closed today (20th) with diversions in place. A stop/go system will be in place westbound between these dates.

MAYO: Rolling closures will be in place for overnight works in Ballyhaunis at The Square, where Main St, the N60 and the N83 meet. The closures will be in place until tomorrow (21st) between 7pm and 4am and diversions will be signposted.

MAYO: Temporary traffic lights are in place for works on the N59 at Kilmeena, approx. 4km from Westport on the Newport side, until approx. December.

MAYO: Works will take place on the N17 at Ballindine until Mon 23rd Sept. Expect delays

SLIGO: Works are taking place on the N17 between Tobercurry and Charlestown outside Curry Village until approx. the end of October.
