ROAD CONDITIONS

Roads are dry throughout the country to begin with this morning. Temperatures are quite low so frost may be an issue. Make sure to leave extra time before any journey to de-ice your car. 

NATIONAL TRAFFIC

WATERFORD: The N25 remains closed this morning south of Dungarvan following a fatal incident last night. Diversions are in place.

KILDARE: Emergency services are dealing with a collision on the M4 eastbound which is blocking the right lane before J6 Celbridge. Traffic is very slow from before J7 Maynooth.

Delays are building on the Old N4 (R148) heading into Maynooth and Celbridge as people avoid the M4.

KILDARE/DUBLIN: Traffic is slow on the M7 northbound between J11 M9 merge and J9 Naas North.There are inbound delays then on the N7 from J4 Rathcoole through to Newlands Cross Flyover.

CORK: There are the usual delays approaching the Lakeview R/A on the N25 westbound and also on the Ballinacurra Rd.

MEATH: The N2 southbound is slow as usual through Kilmoon Cross.

MEATH/DUBLIN: Traffic is busy passing the M1 at J7 Julianstown and then from J5 Balbriggan South to J2 Dublin Airport.

WICKLOW: Northbound on the N11 is busy at J11 Greystones and then there are delays through to J8 Kilmacanogue.

DUBLIN TRAFFIC

Recovery services are dealing with a breakdown inbound on the Stillorgan Rd before the Kilmacud Rd Lwr jct in the middle lane. Take care on approach.

MEATH/DUBLIN: Traffic is busy passing the M1 at J7 Julianstown and then from J5 Balbriggan South to J2 Dublin Airport.

There are inbound delays on the N7 from J4 Rathcoole through to Newlands Cross Flyover.

Southbound on the M50 is busy from J5 Finglas past J6 Blanchardstown, and then from J9 Red Cow down past J12 Firhouse. Northbound traffic is moving well.

Goatstown Rd is busy from before the Bird Ave jct towards Clonskeagh Hospital.

The Rock Rd is busy inbound from Frascati SC past the Booterstown Ave jct.

Traffic is slow from Seville Place down to Guild St.

Eastbound along the Grand Canal is slow from Parnell Rd to Ranelagh Rd.

CITY TRAFFIC

CORK: 

Slow on the N28 in the direction of Ringaskiddy from before Raffeen Bridge to Shanbally Cross.

There are delays now on all approaches to the Dunkettle Interchange.

GALWAY: 

Quite long delays on the Tuam Rd southbound from Loughgeorge through Claregalway and then further in towards the city from Castlegar to Bóthar na dTreabh.

It’s also slow on the N6 and the Monivea Rd towards Bóthar na dTreabh which itself is busy from before the Coolagh R/A to Briarhill.

The Dublin Rd has inbound delays approaching Merlin Park Hospital.

LIMERICK:

No unusual delays in Limerick City at this time.

WATERFORD:

No traffic issues to report around Waterford city centre.

A bridge lift has been scheduled for Rice Bridge at 9:30am today (21st). Expect delays of approx. 20 minutes on all approaches.

EVENTS

DUBLIN: Showcase Ireland takes place in Hall 1 of the RDS until Wednesday (23rd), 9:30am to 6pm daily. Delays can be expected through Ballsbridge and Sandymount; on the Anglesea Rd, Simmonscourt Rd, Shelbourne Rd and Pembroke Rd. However, the heaviest traffic is likely on Merrion Rd. The RDS is serviced by bus routes number 4, 5, 7, 7a and 8, which stop outside the RDS on Merrion Rd. The RDS is also very close to both Sandymount and Lansdowne Rd DART stations.

ULSTER

CAVAN: Reduced speed limits are in place for works on the N55 between Ballinagh and Loughduff until approx. March.

DONEGAL: Rolling works are in place on the N56 through Ardara until approx. the end of March.

DONEGAL: Temporary traffic lights and reduced speed limits of 50kmph remain in place on three stretches of the N56: one just west of Mountcharles until March, one north of Glenties until May and the third between Letterkenny and Kilmacrennan until approx. the end of March.

DONEGAL: Temporary traffic lights are in place for works on the N15 just south of Ballybofey until approx. Fri 24th Feb.

MONAGHAN: Temporary traffic lights are back in place on the N2 south of Emyvale, near Corracrin National School, along with a reduced speed limit of 50kmph, until approx. October.

LEINSTER

DUBLIN: Stocking Lane (R115) is closed for works until 9pm on Wednesday (23rd). Diversions will be in place via Scholarstown Rd, Edmonstown Rd and Mount Venus Rd.

KILDARE: Reduced speed limits and varying lane restrictions are in place for major works on the M7 route between J8 Johnstown and J11 M9 until approx the end of April. Take care on that stretch and follow all signage.

KILKENNY: A stop/go system will be in place on the N77 north of Kilkenny City, between the Castlecomer Rd R/A and Henebry’s Cross today (21st) and tomorrow (22nd).

KILKENNY: A stop/go system is in place for works on the N25 at Glenmore until Wednesday (23rd). A reduced speed limit of 60 km/h is also in place.

LOUTH: Church St and Clanbrassil St in Dundalk (R132) have been made one-way southbound until the end of November. Northbound traffic will be diverted via The Long Walk and The Laurels.

OFFALY: High St and Bridge St in Tullamore have been made one-way for works until the end of June. Traffic towards Colmcille St is being diverted via Cormac St and Main St.

WEXFORD: A reduced speed limit of 50kmph and lane restrictions are in place for works on the N11 at the Scarawalsh R/A north of Enniscorthy until further notice.

WEXFORD: A temporary road layout is in place for works on the M11 between J23 Courtown and the Clogh R/A until Sun 31st March. The northbound carriageway is closed for works: traffic in both directions is using the southbound side, where a contra-flow system has been set up.

WEXFORD: A section of the Gusserane/Newbawn Rd (R735) will be closed for works at Gusserane from 8:30am until 6:00pm daily until Friday (25th). Diversions will be in place.

WEXFORD: The Tagoat/Rosslare Rd (R736) will be closed for works at Rosetown in Rosslare between 8am and 5pm daily from today (21st) until Friday (25th). Diversions will be in place.

WEXFORD: A stop/go system will in place on the N11 north of Wexford Town between Ferrycarrig Bridge and Kyle Cross from today (21st) until Friday 29th March between 8am and 6pm daily.

MUNSTER

CORK: Church Rd (R601) in Timoleague will be closed at the bridge for works until 6pm on Wed 13th March. As a result, there will be no access to the bridge, with traffic to/from Courtmacsherry diverted via Lislevane.

CORK: The Kinsale/Timoleague Rd (R600) will remain closed for works in Ballinspittle until Sun 10th Feb. A diversion will be signposted via the Garrettstown Rd (R604).

CORK: Works have resumed on the N71 in Leap, with a stop/go system in place until mid-February.

CORK: Works are in place on the N71 just north of Clonakilty between Faxbridge and Lisselane between 7am and 7pm daily until approx Mon 18th March. They will then continue as overnight works from 7:30pm to 7am nightly until approx. Fri 12th April.

CORK: The Passage West Rd (R610) is closed at Glenbrook for works until Mon 4th March, from 9:30am to 4:30pm daily and again from 6:30pm to 9:30pm on weekdays. A 24-hour closure will be in place at weekends. A diversion will be in place via the N28.

CORK: The Youghal/Ballymacoda Rd (R633) will be closed for works at the local Ballycotton turn-off outside Ballymacoda until 6pm on Fri 22nd March.

KERRY: A stop/go system will be in place for works on the N70 (Ring of Kerry) at Dromquinna, between Kenmare and Templenoe, from 8am to 6pm daily until Thurs 14th Feb.

KERRY: A one-way system is in place in Killorglin town centre until approx. the end of April to facilitate works on the N70 – traffic from the Tralee side will travel via Main St, while traffic from the Cahersiveen side will be diverted via Mill Rd and New Line Rd.

LIMERICK: A rolling stop/go system will be in place on the N20 between Croom and Hyne's Cross until Fri 1st March. Expect delays.

TIPPERARY: A stop/go system will be in place on the N24 at Bansha until Thurs 14th Feb from 8am until 5pm each day.

WATERFORD: A stop/go system is in place for works on the N25 at the Youghal Rd R/A outside Dungarvan until approx. Friday (25th).

WATERFORD/KILKENNY: Part of the Abbey Rd in Ferrybank will close for works near Abbey Gate R/A until Fri 15th March.

CONNACHT

GALWAY: A stop/go system is in place on the N83 for works about halfway between Tuam and Dunmore until approx. the end of November.

GALWAY: Works will be in place on the N67 in Kinvara between the Gort Rd jct and the turn-off for the GAA pitch until approx Fri 22nd March.

MAYO: Temporary traffic lights are in place for works on the N59 at Kilmeena, approx. 4km from Westport on the Newport side, until approx. the end of 2019.

SLIGO: Temporary traffic lights and lane closures are in place for works on the N59 between Ballysadare and Balladrihid until approx. Friday (25th).

SLIGO: A stop/go system is also in place for works on the N17 north of Tobercurry, between the town and the local Muckelty turn-off, until mid-April.
