Nannie in lockdown
Lucy · Age 18 · Tyrone
During Covid lockdowns, society’s most vulnerable were advised to shield. Although this kept them safe, most felt very isolated- especially those who lived alone. Communications through phone calls and messages passed only some of the time and so most resorted to old or new hobbies. My artwork shows my Nannie knitting in peace and contentment despite the chaos of the pandemic. I wanted to convey the change in routine for people like my Nannie, who suddenly had a lot more time to knit, and the importance of hobbies during lockdown.
