' The Mary Tree '

I painted this piece for my mom's 50th birthday. The painting depicts my mom's favourite tree located in Baleek woods, Ballina, County Mayo. It's her home town and every time we go down to visit we pay a little visit to the tree. When the tree is in sight she always screams 'LOOK IT'S THE MARY TREE'. That's why I chose to title my work 'The Mary Tree'. I painted this tree for my mom's birthday because it makes her feel at home. And she makes me feel at home.
