This is extraordinary how we can express ourselves through art. This is a fired and glazed ceramic piece based on the portrait of my mom. This is evident in the use of coils for the hair as she has curly hair. The use of colour has significant meaning. The orange in the face represents creativeness. The blue tones in the hair represents trust. This is the actual colour of my own hair. The green for the eyes represents positivity. The mark making has historic meaning and was used as a mark of respect.
