Charlie Bird was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in March 2021. He caught the heart of the nation on The Late Late Show when he announced his illness saying “I cry everyday’’. He promised to climb Croagh Patrick to fundraise for MNDAI and Pieta House. ‘Climb with Charlie’ was born. On April 2nd he climbed Craogh Patrick raising €2.5m. I decided to draw Charlie as he is inspirational and has shown that no matter what you go through you can always find hope and that sometimes it will be hard but if you keep fighting you can get through it.
