The Ornamentality of Nature
Aisling · Age 15 · Dublin
In this artwork I hoped to capture the organic loveliness of moths, which are often thought of as pests.
Moths have exquisite wings, but they also serve a function, beyond visual appeal: the array of colours plays a key role in survival through camouflage. They are not merely ornamental!
I find it especially important to be conscious of beautiful things in our environment in our daily life, where we are often distracted.
I urge everyone to look up at the world more often, it’s worthwhile!
